Editorial: In a nutshell:
Wario is back with more new ways to use the Wii Remote than you'd ever imagine. Whether it's balancing it on your head or chopping vegetables in mid-air this is one game where you'll literally never know what's coming next.

The lowdown:
Anyone that's played a previous Wario Ware game will have some idea of the insanity that awaits in this first Wii outing. Just like the portable versions the game contains over two hundred micro-games, most of which don't last any longer than five seconds. This provides the perfect excuse to use the Remote in as many ridiculous ways as possible, with each game using one of a dozen or so different ways of holding it, from the "waiter", where you hold it flat on your palm, to the "hula hoop" where you hold it against your hip. The actual games involve everything from picking someone's nose in 3D, to balancing an umbrella on your finger tips and replacing a granny's false teeth. It's just as silly as it sounds but easily the most instantly enjoyable game on the Wii.

Most exciting moment:
Like the GameCube game WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$, Smooth Moves also has a multiplayer mode for up to four people, as you both take turns with the single player games and join in together with specially made mini-games.

Since you ask:
Although there are a number of different modes the main single player campaign still includes a longer "boss battle" at the end of each set of themed micro-games. The only one that's been shown so far involves driving a car around using the remote and trying to avoid monkeys and cows on the road.

The bottom line:
The Wii Remote gets a through workout in the funniest Wario Ware yet.- HARRISON DENT

I managed to pick this game up pre owned for me and my family to play, and I would recommend anybody to do the same. I have actually completed the game but this is ok because once it is complete it opens multiplayer games such as darts and knockout games where if you fail your minigame you are out(best played with more than 2 players). The graphics are basic and not the best I have seen on the Wii but are very comical, and you will be laughing at the minigames every time you play. I have a couple of niggling critisism for this game such as it was a bit to easy for an adult to complete(it took less than 2 hours over 2 nights) but for children it is fantastic, and another thing is the fact that only 1 Wiimote which can become annoying in the 2 player games (they recommend as with all games that the mote is secured around your wrist but than ask you to pass it on and you get about 3 seconds for the other person to take it off you, secure with the strap and assume the positon) so we found ourselves not using the strap which can be dangerous so a 2 mote system would have been better but these are only small niggles in what is otherwise a fantasticly fun game to play with all your friends and family(all adults plus alcohol= lots of laughs) So in summary a fun and challenging game for kids and a fun, if a little easy, challenging and entertaing game for adults so truly a game for everyone,so buy it.

1 out of 5  "Great! for a few hours" - 17 January 2007
This game isnt bad at all, the only reason ive rated it so low is because in the two evenings after i bought it i played it for about 2 hours each night, and on the second night was shocked to find that i had completed the game lol, and u really dont have much enthusiasm about replaying the mini games as they are mostly just frustrating to play. If you want to pay somewhere in the region of 40 quid to buy this just to get a few hours out of it and you are happy with that then fair do's. Its just too damn short im still stuck on zelda and ive had that for ages now thats value for money!

4 out of 5  "Short but sweet" - 16 January 2007
First up - this is a brilliant game especially if you have a short attention span because you can play in short bursts. The different ways in which you use the Wii controller to complete each 5 second mini game is pure genius - and so very funny to do and to watch!

When you complete the main story line in single player mode, you can then access the multiplayer games. This is where the game really comes into its own as a pure party piece - pass the controller around and watch everyone make idiots of themselves as they struggle to complete a silly task. There are several multiplayer games - unfortunately they are much of a muchness - very similar except for Darts which is like real darts playing and a strange flying nose game.

My one and only complaint is that the main game is too easy and too quick to complete - 1 day for me. There is however a ton of unlockable extras which you can only get by replaying single mode - so don't think that you've truly completed it when the single mode credits roll because you're far from finished at this stage.

So although the main mode is completed quickly, days later I'm still unlocking everything else.

Incredibly good fun if you enjoy this kind of thing but definitely not to everyones taste.

5 out of 5  "A great showcase for the capabilities of the Wii" - 25 January 2007

Being the proud owner of a Wii for a week or so I decided to splash out and buy Wario Smooth Moves as my first game. To be honest I wasn't too taken with it at first. The whole concept of the mini games was a little weird for me - in fact I found the whole format strange! But I persevered and now I think it is great! There are loads of random mini games to keep you interested and some very inventive ways to hold the controller (my favourite being "The Mohawk"). I haven't tried the mulitplayer yet but I am sure that it will add a great new dimension to the game.

Not sure how long it will hold my interest but for now I am loving this game!

3 out of 5  "It "wares" out quickly" - 3 June 2007
First of all did you get my pun? Good right let's move on.

I borrowed this game from a friend and thankfully I didn't by it, it's not awful or anything it's just very short. Everything else about it is great, you get into some really ridulous positions, the animations are great and funny and best of all they're are tonnes of microgames (although you get through them quickly like I said). Also the multiplayer section is good as well alowing you to go upto 16 players, but then having said that why would you want sixteen people round at your house!

If you're looking for a minigame game than go for Rayman or maybe Mario party 8 (I don't know anything about that so don't blame me if you by it and don't like it!)

4 out of 5  "Great if you're a gamer" - 16 June 2007
What I love about the Wii is it's innovative control system with the wireless, motion-sensing Wii Remote. Finally we have a games console that is intuitive enough to get the non-gamers (usually the oldies) of the family involved. I think Nintendo's vision was a whole family playing together games like Wii Sports.
Overall the Wii succeeds in this, and has provided strong evidence that what is most important in gaming is inclusiveness and gameplay. Those who buy games based on graphics and tech. specs are missing the point, but then they probably own an XBox or PS3 so have already proved that point. Nintendo is the only console manufacturer that recognises that it's all about gameplay, gameplay, gameplay.

So, with that backdrop I was expecting great things of Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. What could be more fun than the whole family jumping around the living room squatting, swatting, twisting and turning to a frantically fast series of humorous micro-games? I was a little disappointed, but only a little. Here's my concern: The micro-games come at you fast and furious, and you only get the briefest of hints as to what to do, then only five seconds in which to decipher the short clue (one to three words e.g. Push!, Save Her!) and perform the required action. Now to a gamer this is an enjoyable challenge, but how long is Nan's patience going to last when the first game fails and she loses a life before she even realises what's going on?

Don't get me wrong this is a fun fun fun game and I recommend it, but it would have been perfect with a start-gentle tutorial mode for the wrinklies.

1 out of 5  "Multiplayer sucks." - 18 January 2007
After the crushing disappointment that multiplayer can only be accessed by completing the game (why?), I finished Warioware: Smooth moves in 4 hours, returned it and got a refund.

The game guides you gently through the various Wiimote-poses but all too soon the pace slowed to a crawl, the Wiimote pose became irrelevant and it became repetitive.

I got it based on expectations of a flashy, fun multiplayer experience to share with friends. But - You can't skip the (long) cartoons, it was VERY easy to complete single-player and all of the side games and you can only use one Wiimote. One of the hooks for repeat playability is that the game centres around high-scores - but for other people to compete against your high score, they have to play through the whole thing too with their own Mii. Which frankly there was no chance of doing (did I mention those cartoons were long).

when my mates came round they too got quickly bored and the multiplayer never happened.

Hats off to the balancing side-game though. A bit of calm in an otherwise confused game.

5 out of 5  "Different Reviews" - 31 May 2007
I have been reading reviews on this game and i am coming to a conclusion about them all. People are looking into this in far too much detail. When people buy a game, the first thing should be how much fun you are going to have with it. This is what the designers of WII must have been thinking in order to make the games as funny as possible.
Looking into it, i have never played on a wii until two days ago and the only games that i have played are Wario Ware and Wii Sports. I ave to say that Wario Ware is more fun as you can be as crazy as you like and blame it all on the game.
For fun, this is the game that you want to get. Dont get too hooked up about the "bad graphics" or the "annoying music" as all games have this.
Look into the fun that you can have with it and remember that its only a game!

5 out of 5  "One of the best Wii games." - 3 February 2007
I have always been a warioware fan since the gba version, and over the years I have heard a constant moan from Nintendo-haters saying that the graphics are rubbish on warioware games.

Now firstly this game takes around 2 hours to complete, BUT the point of the game is to complete it so you can play loads of minigames. I bought this as soon as it came out and im not dissapointed 1 bit.

Basicly if you have no clue about what warioware is about, its hundreds of mini games which you have to pass within around 5 seconds. The multiplayer is great!

So if you have a Wii, and dont have this game. GET IT!

4 out of 5  "Wario Ware Smooth Moves" - 1 May 2007
As Minigame collections go this is one of the better ones.
It has over 200 mini (well more like micro) games that last around 3 seconds long each. This may sound boring and silly but it definantly isn't boring, but is very silly. it's great watching a friend struggling to complete a dance or shoot something or roll something and they look so ridiculous at the time. This game is just a huge amount of fun.
It won't last long though. It can easily be finished in a single evening. This is it's main flaw and after a while it is repetitive doing the same 200 games over and over, but it's great fun, awesome in multiplayer. highly reccommended although don't buy at the RRP, anything over £20 is probably pushing it

3 out of 5  "Wario is crazy but short" - 5 June 2007
Got this game in a bundle with my Wii and I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I wasn't disappointed this game is really fun to play. The game itself teaches many different ways to hold and use the wiimote and all the minigames are great fun to play and as they get harder they do get challenging which is excellent. All the minigames are great fun to play and totally crazy lasting around 5 seconds but it is 5 seconds of madness. The multiplayer is also great and you can have up to 12 people playing at once, you all use the same wii mote so you have to pass it very quickly and be carefull as you don't really have enough time to put the strap on. I am giving the game 5 stars for fun because that is exactly what it is 5 star fun.
However the game is only getting 3 stars overall beacuse it does have some serious flaws that detract from the initial enjoyment and mean that the game will not stay long ontop of your pile of Wii games to play.
Firstly the multiplayer is not there from start you have to complete the single player 1st and although this doesn't take long it is initially annoying.
Secondly is the single player although it is very fun it is short and does really have anything to keep you coming back for more I have maybe played it twice since completion.
Thridly is kinda the same as the second point but if you don't use the multiplayer tha life span of this game is probably very short for most people.

Overall it is a very good game and is very fun to play and makes use of the motion controls excellently however it does have its flaws that maybe enough to put people off. I am glad i bought the game and would say if you want a game for short bursts of crazy fun then this is it but if you want a game that will last ages and really challenge you then you would be better off looking else were.
