Editorial: The Metroid games are unique amongst Nintendo's mascot titles, with a decidedly darker atmosphere more akin to Sci-Fi horror films than the usual Mushroom Kingdom antics. The games always used to be 2D side scrollers but with Metroid Prime the series was brought into three dimensions, with a unique blend of first person shooting, puzzle solving and exploration. The Wii version, the final part in the trilogy begun on the GameCube, uses not just the Wii's improved graphical abilities but also the full range of the controller's features.Where other first person games on the Wii have disappointed in the accuracy and accessibility of their controls, Metroid Prime makes the control of Samus Arran (one of video game's few sensibly clothed female protagonists) seem almost effortless. Although there is still a lock-on option for attacking enemies you can now play the game more like a first person shoot `em-up as you target enemies instantly, just by pointing with the Wii remote. All of the buttons, including the D-pad, are used to access Samus's various abilities, which are added to with new uses for the grappling hook. This now works like a whip, allowing you to nab enemy shields by simply flicking the nunchuck forward. Although regulars like Samus' evil dragon-like nemesis Ridley returns, the game features a much more expansive cast of characters than before, including friendly bounty hunters. The graphics are also noticeably improved from the GameCube titles, with much more detailed enemies and much larger game areas. In one go the game seems to comfort concerns about both the Wii's first person action credentials and worries that the console was catering only to a family audience. HARRISON DENT

I honestly have to say that i've never played a metroid prime game in my life but looking at this Nintendo Wii Version i am highly optimistic that i will thoroughly enjoy playing this game! I am looking forward to using the Wii's unique controller with it's point and shoot function! I think this game will definitely be hours of game play time well spent!!!

"Back on planet earth.........." - 15 April 2007
Well, here's a problem. A game rated 5 stars - that nobody has played. Previous reviewers may have seen short clips (maybe) or even a preview (in this case, 99.9% impossible). So, in all good faith, what are we to make of this? Whilst the game has been hyped as "great", wouldn't it be better to wait until reviewers have actually played it? The gaming world it littered with over hyped games that proved to be a complete let down when released. The Amazon rating system is better than most people might think - let's keep it that way.
My review - and score - is based upon fact - rather than wishes. On a game that isn't available for review - and someway from a release date - and may not even be fully coded yet.

"June 30th?" - 27 June 2007
Amazon, please sort out your dates first instead of making them up. On the plus side, June 30th is a Saturday & if this were to come out it'd be on the Friday. June 29th. But all us Metroid Fans would know that this isn't true. Do the same with "Super Smash Bros Brawl" too. Because we don't even know if "Sonic" will be in the Game just yet.. & I'm sure it won't be out this month or next. Please sort the dates out on EVERY Game.

"Simply Awsome" - 4 July 2006
This is the final game in the Metroid Prime Series, and looks to be the best yet, making full use of the wii controller, the nunchuck to move, activate morph-ball and use the grapple beam (now also used as a kind of whip to remove enemy sheilds etc) and the remote to turn, aim look and shoot etc.
The game continues the same storyline as the first 2, where the phazon spread is reaching galactic levels, *mini spoiler* samus either starts or gets infected, new weapons/abilitys but also the chance of death*end spoiler*
Overall a excellent looking game that is a must own for any wii owner, its going to be one of the best fps's released this year, thank god its a launch title!

" wii will rock u" - 12 June 2006
Game footage from E3 looks amazing and looks like to be a great conclusion to the prime series. The graphics so far look good but i feel they could be improved but its still in development so i can't really judge it yet. This is a launch title for the wii and shld be near the top for "must hves" if u get one. looks likely to be awesome when it comes out.
